Empowering rural and semi-urban women with certified vocational trades, stitching, food processing, financial literacy, and market linkages.
Programme Overview & Objectives
Project Swavalamban aims to break the cycle of domestic dependency and gender discrimination by transforming women into self-sufficient breadwinners. Samarpan operates 12 fully equipped Vocational Training Centres offering certified courses in cutting & tailoring, apparel designing, handmade organic toiletries, food processing, and basic computer accounting.
Beyond technical trades, our curriculum integrates life skills, digital banking (UPI/Aadhaar payments), and gender rights awareness. Upon graduation, trainees are assisted in forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs) linked with local rural banks for micro-credit, and direct tie-ups with regional artisan fairs and corporate gifting avenues.
Key Activities & Interventions
Six-month vocational certification, micro-credit facilitation, formation of 120 SHGs, market exhibition stalls, legal rights literacy camps.
Measurable Outcomes & Field Impact
Over 3,800 women successfully certified; 68% are currently earning an average supplementary household income of Rs 6,500 - 12,000 per month.
