Delivering primary healthcare, maternal care, diabetes screenings, diagnostic testing, and free medicines right to the doorsteps of remote villages.
Programme Overview & Objectives
Millions of families residing in remote rural interiors have to travel 30-50 km to access basic medical consultations. Arogya Sanjeevani deploys state-of-the-art Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) staffed with qualified MBBS doctors, gynaecologists, nurses, and lab technicians.
Each unit is equipped with point-of-care diagnostics (Hb, Blood Sugar, ECG, Urine analysis, BP) and dispenses essential generic medicines free of cost. Special focus is maintained on detecting anaemia in teenage girls and expectant mothers, providing iron-folic acid supplementation, and counseling families on seasonal hygiene and safe sanitation.
Key Activities & Interventions
Bi-weekly clinic visits, tele-consultations, free lab diagnostics, free medicines, specialized eye cataract screening camps, distribution of Poshan kits.
Measurable Outcomes & Field Impact
Conducted 480+ medical camps reaching over 48,000 patients. Facilitated 320 successful cataract surgeries and reduced severe maternal anaemia by 41% in targeted blocks.
