Transforming run-down rural Anganwadi centres into vibrant child-friendly learning hubs with Bala paintings, clean RO water, and nutritious meals.
Programme Overview & Objectives
Project Nandghar supports the Government of India's Poshan Abhiyan by revitalising grassroots Anganwadi centres. We upgrade physical infrastructure through Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) interactive murals, child-friendly ergonomic furniture, age-appropriate educational toys, safe sanitation, and solar power backups.
We actively train Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) in modern early childhood education (ECE) techniques and supply supplementary nutrition kits packed with millets, fortified cereals, and jaggery to fight stunting and wasting among children under six.
Key Activities & Interventions
Classroom infrastructure renovation, BaLA art installation, potable water filtration, training of Anganwadi staff, monthly growth monitoring fairs.
Measurable Outcomes & Field Impact
85 Anganwadis completely modernized; daily attendance jumped by 72%; severe acute malnutrition (SAM) among registered toddlers dropped from 18% to under 3.5%.
